Year of opening of the Department: 1966-67

The Department of English in Rayagada Autonomous College was opened in Academic Session 1966-67 with teaching facility in Pre University (P.U) Degree Classes in Arts Started from the Academic Session 1968-69. Honours Course in English was opened in the Academic Session 1977-78. The PG course in English was opened in the academic session 2018-19.

he Department imparted teaching facilities in:

• MA in English (PG level)
• English Hons (UG level)
• AECC-II (Alternative English) in Semester -II for Arts, Science & Commerce
• SECC-I (Communicative English) in Semester-III for Arts, Science & Commerce students as special course
